Increased market share is a good thing, but I'm not sure how I'd feel if Apple overtook Dell...
Don't worry, you have a VERY long time to sort out your feelings. Apple ain't dethroning Dell for a while (if ever).

We knew all this Graphics stuff already like a month ago from the Engadget review.
We now have some actual game results now and it seems even worse than the 50% drop seen in the original review.
Instead of 50% of the performance of the 320M, we now have:
26% at a lower resolution in Wow
34% for Lost planet
Those numbers seem to suggest the ULV SAndy Bridge has even worse graphics performance than the previous generation Nvidia 9400M
They said the Series 9 gets 25 mins less battery life (http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/28/samsung-series-9-900x-laptop-review/).
PCMag says the Series 9 gets almost an hour MORE battery life (http://www.pcmag.com/image_popup/0,1740,iid=291739,00.asp). These reviews are all over the place, and only tell part of the story.
it is only 29min. Not sure where you get almost 1 hour from. And it was measured in Windows, so I think this is the most comparable number. Mac OS is known to be better at using less power than Windows. From this, I'd say there would be a marginal increase in battery life by switching to Sandy Bridge - nothing major.

OK, stop it already! Enough with the iPhone 5 / iPad 3 release date rumors, or put it on page 2.
Yet you take the time to read and comment on it? Interesting. I guess the notion that these rumors generate page views really is true!!

pppfffttt... man up and get some real firepower:D I bought myself an ORIGINAL Desert Eagle 50 cal last year ...best money I ever spent.

Yes it costs a fortune to shoot and my wrist can only handle about 6 rounds and I am done for the day. However it only takes 1 from this thing to stop anything shy of a pissed off bull elephant:D

I guess they could build it into iTunes in some fairly fluid way, but still.
Yay....more itunes bloat! They really need to ditch iTunes all together. It's turned into a piece of crap.

Halo: Reach Legendary Edition
Halo: Reach Limited Edition Xbox 360 S
Replacing my old Xbox 360 Elite. Can't wait to get all this set up and play.
How is the statue of the noble team that comes with the legendary edition? Is it cheap looking or actually worth it?
Looks cool from pictures.

Don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I didn't care about Apple's market share when it was slipping in the 90s and I don't care about it now that it's climbing. I didn't buy my Mac to be popular and I don't particularly care that lots of people are (or are not) using them. It's just an irrelevant metric to me.
...
Besides, Apple deals in the kind of quality that will keep it around for many, many years, regardless of which way its market share is going and that's all that I care about.
You do realize that if Apple's marketshare were to drop to, say, 1% or lower, they would have very little money to spend on R&D, and the quality and innovation you seek would suffer tremendously? Which is why Apple was doing dismally in the 90's and is doing much better today. They are now flush with cash, and can pump out great hardware products, and develop and refine the software that drives sales. Market share (and high margins) is important to ensure a steady flow of cash for those projects.
So, you don't care about how market share affects you, but if you were the only Mac user, I assure you, Apple wouldn't be manufacturing products just for your puny market share. (To make an extreme example)

Sounds a bit like the CEO of Sony when the Xbox was released...lets just hope microsoft doesn't do to this industry leader what it did to Sony
Hmm.. I think the XBox 360 didn't really have any impact on the sales of the PS2, since these two products don't necessarily compete (the XBox 360 is more a highend product, where PS2 stands for affordable entertainment). However, I believe that the Xbox will pretty much kill the PS3 sales.. if there are two platforms whose power isn't even tickled by currently available games, why buy the more expensive one?
As for the MicroPod: We've yet to see if Microsoft manages to come up with a simple enough product.

NickZac, you my friend are awesome! If you're ever in North Hollywood, I have a briefcase.;)
Charlie Sheen parties too much though. Too much of that stuff can mess you up bad. Just gotta keep it below 3 grams per night and one night per week. It's not fun anymore when you wind up in the hospital.

Yeah, isn't it nice when people decide unilaterally what is "professional" and what is not? The distinctions are totally arbitrary of course, but it's easy to see how by virtue of this thinking, Word remains dominant. Nothing else will do, because nothing else will do. What a wonderful tautology.
For the record, I've been using Pages happily and successfully since it came out. Version 2 is an improvement, as well it should be, but that's a long way from saying that version 1 was worthless.
From his rebuttal, I guess we didn't read what he meant from what he said.
I actually got quite good use from version 1 after they added the page sorter.

Why?
I thought AT&T's buyout means T-Mobile is going bye-bye?
408 area code, that means cali. is that steve jobs' personal number? :P
The T-Mobile deal isn't a for sure thing. Likely, but the FTC could block it. Also, as the article states T-Mobile's towers use a different frequencies.

As usual American's (yeah I'm American) love to blame someone for their own responsibility. It's so weird how people on here fight for freedom from the lockdowns that Apple puts on it's developers, freedoms from the limitations and restrictions Apple puts on the iPhone (hence why people jailbreak). Yet when a parent doesn't take accountability for their absence of judgement and legal obligation to be responsible for their child, everyone goes off on Apple for not having the protections in place to prevent this?
What people want is more choice. They're not asking Apple to disable app purchases by default, just put in some simple safeguards that make mistakes like this less likely.
You really believe that failing to log out should be a $1000 mistake? For an app they'll never use? What if the app cost $10,000? $100,000? $1 million? Would they need to go take out a loan and pay spend the rest of their lives paying off the app loan? It's a good thing Apple disagrees with you.

I don't think it will have virtualization, especially with the way they are supporting Parallels solution itself. I think a dual-boot or a fast OS switching type of solution is much more likely. Somebody around here was suggesting "sleeping" one OS and starting another. That's almost good enough. Afterall Apple does not want you to use Windows, it only wants you to believe you could run Windows if you had to, in order to ease switcher anxiety.
I've been planning a project like this (I finally got it on sourceforge, in fact) - The idea is to make the virtualization system able to hibernate any given OS (or freeze state it) in such a way that it can be restored as the host OS (and vice versa), so that you can give any of your OSes running (virtual or host), the host priorities while all the others become virtual.
OTOH, that could be laggy, and may be subject to limitations within EFI, only time will tell.

My first reaction to this was definitely 'ugh', but iCal could use a better interface. I'll hold off on my judgement until I actually use it a while. If it works more efficiently I'll be happy.

You're not alone. This happens for me too, including with this update. Even after a reboot. It didn't do it with any of the 4.0.x releases either. It started with 4.2 I think. Tap an app icon, freezes for a second, then the app appears with no animation. Or a very choppy animation.
I've tried both rebooting and restoring (as a new phone). I had less than a gigabyte free so I tried freeing up some space thinking that might help and even with ~2GB free it still does it.
4.2 was fine for me with regards to UI animations. It was on 4.3 that it all started.
UI navigation is definitely, for me, vastly improved over .1 in .2, but still the third party app "bug" exists.
