Besides worrying about Manufacturers and telco vendors, people need to always be aware that when they have a device such as an iPhone, iPad, and Android device, that they are carrying around a pocket, or highly portable computer.
Security concerns you would have with data on your laptop should be carried over to those devices, and even, be paid closer attention to. You are carrying around a device that is most always internet connected, has cameras, has GPS, has Microphones, and motion sensors.
I don't consider my iPhone a spy device, but, I keep all of those things in mind when I am running around with it ;) .

I do not have SHSH blobs saved. Am I screwed?
Is there a method of downgrading without saving SHSH blobs? I'm almost certain I did a downgrade on my AppleTV 2G without SHSHS blobs saved.... am I wrong?

TJ Maxx isn't selling them at a loss. TJ Maxx however is diluting the perceived value of the iPad. That's something all manufacturers -- not just Apple -- look to protect.
It's exactly why Amazon forces you to put some things in your cart to see the price. Amazon can't advertise a product below Price X, according to their agreement with the manufacturer. If they did, Amazon would be diluting the perceived market value of the product, which would force other resellers to follow suit. This forces the market price lower, and then resellers start putting pressure on the manufacturer to lower THEIR price (to resellers) so the retailers/resellers can maintain healthier margins.
It turns into a race towards the bottom, where a product gets commoditized. Manufacturers try to avoid that at all costs, because they only have a few products where they can sell at a high-margin or premium, for so long, before competition creates a pressure to drive the price down.

All those stupid free cloud based services is easy to replace. If Apple can make a better map than google, even Steve died, Apple can go on and on its own.... I hope Steve can lead Apple and amaze me once again.

I wouldn't mind it. then again im not a parent, just 19 myself. but when my girlfriend turned 18, and i just a month before, my parents were really against my girlfriend (of 2 years at the time, i might add! so it was no slutty one night thing) sleeping in my room. though i think it was because of my sister being only 11. suppose they wanted to keep her innocent to the notion of me and my girlfriend having sex i suppose.
we sleep in the same room now but they think she sleeps on the spare bed :D

That's been their entire motivation all along. If they decide it's something they want to do, there's no reason not to support it.
I would be highly suspicious that they want to create their own maps to do it better than Google Maps. The riff between the two companies is more likely the reason. If they do their own version, it better be amazing or it will just make Apple look bad.

I've had every single iPhone released. Just sold my Verizion 32gb iP4 for $630 when I bought it BNIB off CL for $450. You don't have to be a dummy to enjoy new electronics.

Maybe you could delegate some authority to Demis or Contributors for doing your dirty work, then we temporary iMods could do your bidding without your hands getting dirty. This has to be the worst MacWorld in my recollection. I was super excited to see a Leopard demo, and to order iLife '07 and iWork '07. Especially iWork, which I use all the time.
The name change scares me. The iPhone is useless to me since it is super expensive, and Cingular won't touch South Dakota with a 200 mile pole.
And the Apple tv? Please. If it had DVR capability, I'd be on board. But, everything has to go through iTunes.
My only highlight of the day wasn't even in the keynote, and that's the new AirPort Extreme Base Station. I'll probably get one of those sometime this Spring when I get married. Oh well.
This was a sad day that I got way too excited for. I fear the Mac is getting replaced by Steve's stupid little toy called iPhone.
I agree with you. As a person that lives just a few miles north of you (20 or so) the fact that the iPhone is Cingular makes it worthless for me as well. In fact, anything but Verizon or Alltel is worthless in most midwestern and western rural areas. I guess however you have to cater to where the most customers are so I can't fault Apple for that. I am just glad that companies like Verizon and Alltel haven't forgotten about us in the rural areas like other companies have.
For me the Keynote was pretty boring. The Apple TV is cool enough, but hardly a "must have" item. I would have loved to see some iPod updates (without the phone) or some software updates. Oh well, maybe later this spring we will see something along these lines.

Not necessarily. ACT UP was a very aggressive group in the 80's that used that motto to bring attention to the AIDS crisis. I didn't like them or their tactics much at all at the time either. But you know what? It worked. They definitely served their purpose and are responsible for bringing serious attention to HIV/AIDS. Because you know what? Standing up to bullies like social conservatives works.
What doesn't work is letting them walk all over you, like they've been doing for decades. I'm talking about people who, no matter what you do, will NEVER respect you unless you stand up to them. Sometimes, violence is the answer. I'm sorry, but that's just a sad truth. It should always be the last resort, but it is the only answer sometimes. If people like this think you'll never fight back, you'll always lose. Because you know why? They think we're evil. They think we're the enemy. They've dehumanized us to such an extent that they think it's OK to beat the crap out of us, take our rights and even try to take our children. Would you sit still for that? They will never see us as even remotely human. And if we sit there and take it, we'll never get anywhere. These are not people you play nice with, because they won't play nice back. They are going out of their way to hurt us. There is no doubt about that.

I'm not a big fan of mice with batteries and don't really need the wireless, so I was just wondering if someone would be willing to trade. Mouse is in excellent condition, barely used. Well, it would have been nice but my company (delivers packages, owns Memphis) switched to Exchange about a year ago, mostly because Notes was too damned expensive. Oh well.

BTW I made one for Bean word processor app if you'd like that too. I'm working on building a central place for the icons. If you want, I can share a folder in Dropbox where we can both have access to the files at any given moment.
